Correction: sync is STILL totally unusable unless your on a local lan. Back to one star, this app is junk and they arent doing anything except play with adding cute unwanted features. Heres ANOTHER design flaw! It wont resume downloads! Absolutely useless for sync on remote connections and burns bandwidth (and money) as it starts the sync download from the beginning again if its interrupted for any reason The gui is still different from other implementations of Plex, it has some extra features that dont seem very useful and is missing some features. Plex would do well to try to get all their various platforms consistent in all major functions. Right now, its different on every platform and makes for a frustrating overall experience. One thing about the sync function is that is desperately needs a setting for number of sync threads. If I ask to sync 5 shows, the thing tries to download 4 simultaneously. Its ok. On a local LAN, but via internet its pathetic, I want to be able to prioritize my downloads so I can be watching. This is important as Plex still cant handle live streaming on anything but the local LAN. It doesnt seem to be able to adjust bandwidth and quality to the link speed. Air Video does this so much better.

Awesome when it works but user support experience needs more work especially when you have paid for a lifetime membership. Sync logic needs more work. If you request 10 episodes to be synced it downloads 4 simultaneously so you wait 4 times longer than you need to before you can start watching the first episode. Background downloading is hit and miss as is when screen is locked. They direct you to a forum. Then they ask for logs. Cant find logs. Then they tell you to use a secret two finger tap to locate the debugging menu. Then they want you to email the logs to yourself and post to the forum. How do you do that from an iphone? Wait till you get home and use a desktop. Then wait for forum members to help. Then try their suggestions. Lowered it to one star. My WiFi got interrupted and an episode that was synced at 90% went back to 50%. Regret buying a pass. Not yet at a level where Plex should be charging.

Plex wont work directly on devices as ipad and iphone since last update

This is NOT a free app. You get to stream for 1 minute before a message pops up telling you to pay. What a waste of time! 1 star, deleting and hiding from my purchase history.

Overall very happy with the app. Some issues with the sync. Lots of features have been added lately that I wish they would have spent their time ironing out bugs instead.

Your latest update broke a bunch of stuff. Casting now doesnt update timeline properly, Ive unchecked auto play and app still auto plays. And the worst bit is that connecting to the server, thats freshly updated, is really inconsistent, sometimes it just wont even connect.

Paid and nothing plays properly. Forever stuck on loading page and plex works fine on PC. Can you fix the app??

This was a great app however the latest update broke it entirely on my phone. It now crashes every time I launch it, even after a reboot. I can see the app after a crash when I double-press the home button, it seems to be stuck in the camera upload menu but when I switch to the app it crashes again. I cant use it at all until it is fixed. Also, none of my managed users can use camera upload now. I had enabled camera upload before this version which may be why my app is crashing now. Please fix this asap!

Great media player if you have the server up and running. My only complaints are that I have to fall back to Mr.MC for anything that requires video transcoding (plex can not transcode on client side) or DTS which plex can not pass through. It has such great library features I still use plex 95% of the time it is my main player.

Been reading a lot of nasty one star reviews here and all Ive got to say is that theyre completely off-base. Ive been using Plex media, server the app, The Apple TV app, Plex for Chromecast for years. This collection of apps has enabled me to watch thousands of hours of streamed content over the years. I dont know what all the gripping is about but I wouldnt let it stop you from trying a great app.

Very good working app with 2 problems: 1. Purchased on one device. Installed on second device - Restore Purchase does not work. No response on forum for 2 weeks. 2. There is no option to run Plex Server as a service on PC. Every time computer is restarted, you have to remember to log in so it starts. Plex - please fix those to make app excellent!

Rarely does an app exceed expectations to this degree. I have used many media setups and am by far most happy with this app and server. Watch media stored at home over the Internet anywhere in the world. Perfect and a breeze to set up. Plex remembers where you leave a show on one device and will seamlessly start up on another. So many other features to rave about.

Ive been using Plex for years but this last update (4.4.1), to their iOS app has broken remote functionality. You can select content to play for another device but once the content is playing, you can not adjust any playback options including scanning forwards and backwards. The poster for the media just spins with a indefinite progress wheel. I have tested on three different iOS devices and the issue is the same. This issue is also on the Plex forums from other users regarding 4.4.1. If you havent upgraded your app version yet, dont, and wait for a fix.

A bit to setup. Get the latest server version for your computer and enjoy your personal media anywhere. You dont need a PlexPass membership, it adds other features but you get a lot from this.

Since the new update I have had to reinstall the app countless times due to crashing immediately. Cant keep wasting time reinstalling and resyncing all media.
